“I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and , behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit” (Ecclesiastes. 1:14)
Your attitude, positive or negative, will be determined by how you look at things.
An attitude is an orientation to life. Your vantage point of looking at something, will change your whole attitude towards it.
From what perspective do you view life, or some particular circumstance you are in?
If you look at it from your earthly vantage point, it may look hopeless and cause you to despair.
When you are in a rain storm, if you look up from the earth, the clouds look dark. I’ve heard weather men on television explain a satellite image, “The rain is in the bright clouds.” That is because weather satellites from space look down, and the clouds look bright.
It all depends on your point of view. Are you looking up at the clouds from earth, or looking down from space.
Solomon’s problem in Ecclesiastes was having a wrong perspective on life. He was viewing life on a horizontal plane “under the sun” (Eccl. 1:14). Physically, we are “under the sun” but in reality, Christians are already seated “in heavenly places in Christ Jesus” (Eph. 2:6). We need to view life from our heavenly vantage point!
Why not start looking at life from your heavenly seat?
Your outlook on life will change as you view life from above! Keep looking DOWN!
